Privacy Policy Effective Date: 8/18/26
Open Field Psychotherapy is the professional practice of Peter Corbett, LICSW, doing business as Open Field Psychotherapy. This Privacy Policy describes how Open Field Psychotherapy (“Open Field,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and shares information submitted through openfieldpsychotherapy.com.
Information we collect
When you contact us through the website, we may collect information that you voluntarily provide, including:
-
your name;
-
email address;
-
telephone number;
-
preferred method of contact;
-
the service in which you are interested; and
-
the contents of a brief message.
Our website contact forms do not ask for diagnoses, medication information, treatment histories, insurance information, or detailed medical or mental-health information.
Please do not submit confidential medical, psychiatric, or other sensitive clinical information through a website contact form or ordinary email.
The website and its service providers may also collect limited technical information automatically, such as Internet Protocol address, browser type, device information, pages visited, and general information about how visitors use the site.
How we use information
We may use information submitted through the website to:
-
respond to questions or requests for information;
-
arrange an initial conversation or consultation;
-
determine which Open Field clinician or service may be appropriate;
-
communicate about requested services;
-
maintain necessary administrative and business records;
-
operate, secure, and improve the website; and
-
comply with applicable professional, legal, or regulatory obligations.
Submitting a contact form does not establish a therapist-client, physician-patient, or other professional treatment relationship.
Who may review an inquiry
Website inquiries may be reviewed by Peter Corbett or by clinicians, interns, or administrative personnel working with Open Field Psychotherapy who have a legitimate role in responding to the inquiry.
An inquiry may be directed within Open Field to the clinician best suited to respond to the service requested.
We will not ordinarily send identifiable information to an outside clinician or organization without first discussing the referral with you and, when appropriate, obtaining your permission. We may disclose information without permission when required by law or when reasonably necessary to address an immediate and serious safety concern.
Wix, Google, and other service providers
This website is hosted on the Wix platform. Contact-form submissions may be processed and stored through Wix’s systems and may generate an email notification to Open Field.
Open Field uses Google Workspace for business email and related communications. Information may therefore be processed by Wix, Google, and other technical providers that help us host the website, maintain security, deliver email, analyze site performance, or provide requested functionality.
We may later use an outside scheduling, assessment, or clinical-information platform. When we do, that service may have its own privacy notice, security practices, consent process, and terms of use. We will update this policy when a new service materially changes how information is collected or used.
Wix advises website owners to describe the information they collect, their purposes, service providers, cookies, retention, visitor choices, and contact procedures in their privacy policies.
Clinical forms and health information
At this time, Open Field does not use this website to collect formal clinical intake forms, psychological measures, medication histories, medical records, or treatment documentation.
Should Open Field later offer assessments or intake questionnaires through a separate secure service, the privacy and consent provisions associated with that service will apply.
Information submitted through the ordinary contact form should not be considered a substitute for a secure clinical intake or medical-record system.
Cookies, analytics, and technical information
Wix uses cookies and similar technologies that support security, website operation, performance, and functionality. Search and analytics services may also provide Open Field with aggregated information about how visitors find and use the site.
Third-party services or integrations may place their own cookies or use similar technologies according to their own privacy policies. Wix notes that its sites use essential cookies and that added applications or integrations may introduce additional cookies.
Open Field does not currently use the website to conduct behavioral advertising or retarget visitors through Meta, TikTok, or similar advertising trackers.
A cookie-consent tool may be added or adjusted as website features and applicable requirements develop.
Marketing communications
Submitting an inquiry to Open Field does not automatically subscribe you to a newsletter, promotional list, KAPstone Clinics mailing list, or other marketing campaign.
We may send service-related communications in response to your inquiry. Promotional or educational communications would be sent only when there is an appropriate basis for doing so and will include a way to discontinue them when required.
Open Field and KAPstone Clinics
Open Field Psychotherapy and KAPstone Clinics are separate organizations.
Information submitted to Open Field is not automatically shared with KAPstone Clinics for marketing, membership, directory, or organizational purposes. Any sharing for such purposes would require a separate appropriate basis or permission.
Sale of information
Open Field does not sell visitors’ personal information.
Service providers may process limited information on our behalf when necessary to provide website hosting, email, analytics, scheduling, security, or other operational services.
Retention
We retain website inquiry information only as long as reasonably necessary to:
-
respond to the inquiry;
-
arrange or provide requested services;
-
maintain appropriate business or clinical records;
-
address legal, regulatory, security, or professional obligations; and
-
resolve questions or disputes.
If an individual becomes a patient or client, clinically relevant information may be documented separately in an appropriate professional record.
Confidentiality and security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards and rely on established service providers. Nevertheless, no website, contact form, ordinary email message, or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure or confidential.
For that reason, please keep contact-form messages brief and do not include sensitive clinical details.
Emergencies
The website, contact forms, and email are not emergency services and are not monitored continuously.
Do not use them to communicate an urgent safety concern, psychiatric crisis, or medical emergency. In an emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department. People experiencing a mental-health or suicide-related crisis in the United States may also call or text 988.
Children and adolescents
This website is intended primarily for adults. Open Field does not knowingly use the website to collect personal information directly from children under 13.
A parent or legal guardian should initiate any inquiry concerning services for a minor.
Links to other websites
The website may link to Psychology Today, KAPstone Clinics, Google Maps, professional directories, scheduling services, or other third-party websites.
Open Field does not control the privacy, security, accessibility, or content practices of those outside services. Their own policies and terms apply when you visit them.
